Aset (Isis), the Mother Goddess Beloved By All Egyptians, wasn’t a remote divinity accessible only to high priests. Having overcome the tragedy or her husband’s death and protecting her son alone made her a compassionate humane deity. A maternal goddess, Isis was a reassuring figure, with the power to solve many of lifes problems. She was a multicultural deity, worshipped by Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, from slave to Emperor.
